IT applications availability

Availability is an important issue these days for IT infrastructures. A study published in 2007 estimates that unavailability of computer applications can cost as much as 440,000 euros per hour, and this cost can rise into the billions of euros on a national scale.

IT application availability is a metric derived by dividing the time during which the aforementioned applications are operational by the total time during which their availability is needed.

This concept of IT application availability ties back into performance, defined as response time. ip-label provide solutions that monitor the response time, availability rates and performance of applications from the end-user point of view by measuring for how long the end user was without access to the computer application.
