Press release Through its acquisition of Auditec-Newtest, ip-label moves up to third place worldwide & reaffirms its position as European leader in the measurement of the perceived quality of digital services Paris, 9 September 2008. ip-label, an impartial and independent institute of measurement of the perceived quality of digital services, today announces the acquisition of 100% of shares in Auditec-Newtest, thereby reinforcing its position as the European leader in the field of measurement of the perceived quality of digital applications and services.
The group, henceforth known as ip-label.newtest, achieves a turnover of 10 million euros for a portfolio of nearly 700 customers. The group is now poised to takes its place at the forefront of the global market. It has a commercial presence in 14 countries and operates through a network of 17 partners abroad along with 5 offices of its own.
Both companies offer solutions for measuring the quality of applications from the perspective of the end user, a true indicator of quality of experience (QoE). Unlike ip-label’s SaaS (ASP) offer for internet and intranet applications, with its fully mutualized central site at the service of all its customers, the solution developed by Auditec-Newtest is sold in license mode, designed essentially for private networks and administered via a central site with dedicated measurement agents for each customer. The two offers thus complement each other perfectly and allow customers to implement the solution of their choice in line with their needs and security imperatives.
Technological synergies between the two solutions will multiply the possibilities available to existing customers (executive reports, internet voice and telephony (VoIP/ToIP), interactive voice response (IVR), television over internet (TVoIP), video on demand (VoD), etc.). Furthermore, Newtest customers will be able to take advantage of ip-label’s expertise in consulting for advising and monitoring of their internet sites (benchmark, load testing, project management assistance, etc).
The uniting of the two technical teams will result in a combined pool of 16 ip-label.newtest R&D engineers, who will be at liberty to exchange their experience and creativity to continue turning out ground-breaking innovations.
“Thanks to this acquisition, customers of the ip-label.newtest group will benefit from increased R&D capabilities and an expanded offer more closely matching every need,” underlines Eric Varzsegi, chairman and founder of ip-label. “They will benefit from the experience of a larger, stronger company which, by 2012, should attain a turnover of over 20 million euros. This will enable us to better accompany our customers in their international development. At the same time, we will continue to examine every opportunity for external growth, whether in France or abroad.”
With respect to human resources, the teams in place will be kept on in every country, thus opening up new perspectives for advancement, including relocation, for the group’s employees. For the time being the strategy is being overseen by the ip-label management committee, but Auditec-Newtest managers will join it without delay in order to take full part in decisions.
The outlook through 2009 rests on enhancement of the sustainability of ip-label.newtest’s position, notably by intensifying its growth internationally.
ip-label, which was awarded a trophy for the best growth in exports (Trophée de la Meilleure Croissance à l’Export) on 24 June by Mrs. Idrac, French Minister of Foreign Trade, is now focusing on new markets such as Russia, northern Europe, Brazil and India.
